Yesterday, Lela Rose put together what was surely one of the more fun shows during New York Fashion Week. In addition to being a showcase for the designer’s Fall 2019 collection, the event doubled as a dog show (The “Roseminster Dog Show”), and featured a corgi named Maxine the Fluffy, a Brittany spaniel named Riley Bean, and a very floppy-looking basset hound. It was also very Dallas.

Rose (who’s been known to put together an entertaining fashion show) is a Dallas native. Her flagship store in Highland Park Village always catches the eye with its whimsical windows and bright designs. Then there was “dog show” announcer Jenna Bush Hager, another Dallas native who—from the sound bites we heard—was deeply good at her job. Neiman Marcus’ Ken Downing received a shout out from Hager’s co-announcer, Robert Verdi. And finally, there was SparkleDog, the pink-hued dog food from Real Housewives of Dallas’ Kameron Westcott, which “sponsored” the show.

In her Instagram story, Kameron says, “All the SparkleDogs did amazing!” Which posits the question: what exactly is a SparkleDog? Is it simply a dog that eats SparkleDog dog food? Probably. But what if it’s more? What if it’s a lifestyle? I mean, I’m pretty sure my parent’s dog eats Blue Buffalo, but she’s an adorable rescue who just got a monogrammed down vest, so I still think Kam would deem her a SparkleDog. All the dogs in that fashion show, even if they eat Purina or something, are absolutely SparkleDogs. I think SparkleDog may be, as your 15-year-old cousin would say, a mood. A dog mood.

Anyway, enjoy the SparkleDogs of Lela Rose on this sunny Tuesday. Make it a mood.
