Thumbs Up to Mayor Starke Taylor for announcing so early (14 months before the mayoral election) that he intends to run for a second term. Under normal circumstances, such an early announcemeni would seem inappropriate, but considering the level of speculation about his job, this was the best alternative. Several people, including some City Council members, have recently been politicking for the position, thus causing unnecessary tension in City Council meetings-and unnecessary rambling by mayoral hopefuls. Now, with the announcement behind us, it’s time to get down to business again.
