Jasper Russo of Sigel’s, Dallas’ “Godfather of Food Trucks,” showcases new food trucks not only to get new trucks visibility, he likes to the challenge of pairing wine with their food. I urge you to check out one of Dallas’ newest trucks, The Virgin Olive when they pull up to Sigel’s on Greenville Avenue on December 3 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The focus will be their tomato basil soup and Jasper’s selected wines.
Owner-operators Susan and Tony Landry began plans for The Virgin Olive more than six months ago. They opened in Dallas a few weeks ago, and “auditioned” at the Truck Yard. Obviously, they passed the test. Currently you can find them on our weekly schedule. The Virgin Olive’s menu includes many standard Italian favorites such as tomato basil soup, ravioli bites, mozzarella sticks, lasagna, and Pasta Primavera I’m interested in checking out their Italian-Tex fusion dishes such as the herb-crusted chicken tenders with marinara wrapped in flour tortillas. They also offer a kid’s menu which includes popcorn chicken and spaghetti, an added plus because many food trucks fail to cater to the kiddos.
